Roasted Banana Bourbon Thick shake
Just when you thought you’d tried it all! Impress your family and friends with this shake!
- 3 bananas, peeled
- 3 tbs brown sugar
- 3/4 cup full cream milk
- 450g (3 cups) blue ribbon vanilla ice cream
- ¼ cup bourbon
- 4 ice cubes
- Extra banana & grated dark chocolate, to serve, optional
Preheat oven 220°C fan forced. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Cut the bananas in half lengthways. Place on the tray cut side up. Sprinkle bananas with the sugar. Roast 10 minutes or until light golden and sticky. Set aside to cool 30 minutes.
Place the bananas, milk, ice cream, bourbon and ice into a blender. Blend until smooth. Pour into 2 chilled glasses. Slice extra banana into rounds and inset onto a skewer. Place across the glass, sprinkle with chocolate. Serve immediately.
Tip: Try replacing the Bourbon with Kalua, Dark rum or Malibu.
