Chocolate Tart with Caramelised Bananas
Sweet tooth? These yummy tarts will be hard to resist.
- 1/2 cup plain flour
- 1 tbsp icing sugar
- 60g butter
- 1/2 cup cream
- 150g dark chocolate
- 2 bananas
- Brown sugar
Place flour, icing sugar and butter into a food processor and combine until mixture comes together to form a ball. Remove from food processor and wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1/2 hour.
Preheat oven to 200 degrees.
Take dough and cut into two pieces. Grease two 11cm tart tins. Roll each piece of dough between two sheets of baking paper. Ease pastry into tart tins. Blind bake for 10 minutes, before removing weights and baking for a further 10 minutes. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
Heat cream in a medium bowl over simmering water. Once heated add in chocolate and stir until chocolate has melted. Set aside for 10 minutes to cool slightly before filling tart shells.
Heat a frypan over medium heat. Add in a knob of butter. Slice bananas and add to frypan. Sprinkle over brown sugar. Cook bananas for 2 minutes before turning over carefully to cook for a further minute on the other side. Remove carefully from frypan and arrange around tart.
Serve tart with some cream.
